Wax Recommendation

Base Glide Layer Recommendation:

Rode Graphite or Rode Endurance
- OR -
Holmenkol FF21
- OR -
Swix Marathon White

Having a hard underlayer will help with the old, dry snow expected and will provide durability and dirt repulsion. We expect Graphite to be the best choice, but Rode Endurance and Holmenkol FF21 would be excellent choices. Swix Marathon would be another good option.

Race Paraffin Recommendation:

Rode R20
Holmenkol FF Blue

If you want to keep it simple or have the ability to test against the race waxes above, Rode Endurance or Holmenkol FF21 could be excellent race wax under a liquid wax.

Powder Recommendation:

N/A Race is Fluor Free

Topcoat Recommendation:

Rode RL Blue
Holmenkol FF1 Blue

Structure Recommendation:

Fine grinds such as S1.3 or S0.3 if it is colder than expected.
Hand structure may come into play, but likely it will be fine and linear. Try Holmenkol Cross Structure tool with one roller.

Kick Wax Recommendation:

Base ironed in: Rode, Guru or Holmenkol Green. For extra durability, choose Vauhti Super Base
Wax of the day to try:
Rode Multigrade Blue, TLine B310
Holmenkol Green, Blue Spezial
Guru Blue

The conditions look pretty typical for the BMT: cold nights, old snow with sunshine warming things, but probably not too quickly.
