The weather forecast is making this a bit exciting. With snow this evening and warm overnight temps, it should be pretty straightforward still, but it could easily be a few degrees warmer or colder than forecast and really change the race conditions. As of Friday, the new snow up top was pretty warm and starting to go from powder to moist to wet. The forecast calls for just a few degrees below freezing, which should keep it fairly cold and solid with a 60% chance of 1-2" of new snow up top.

As always, it is always a good idea to have two pairs of skis, one colder, one warmer. Given the forecast, we recommend a mid-range ski for the primary with a colder ski as backup in case conditions go colder than expected. For this race, we would go with primary ski S2.2 grind (medium) with LF Graphite, Holmenkol Race Mix Mid, N21 powder, n21 block with a second backup ski with S1.3 grind, LF Graphite, Holmenkol Race Mix Cold, C105 powder, C105 block.

*Note: BNS imports Holmenkol and SkiGo waxes, and also sells waxes from Swix, Toko, Rode, Solda, Rex, Guru, Innovax, Magnar and others. We search for the fastest waxes for our customers and our testing is professional, objective and transparent. We make our best effort to test what we think is the best from each brand. However, given that we are testing more options from Holmenkol and SkiGo, there is a bias toward those brands. With this full disclosure, you can assess the legitimacy of our testing yourself. Visit Swix and Toko for their official recommendations. If you have any questions please contact us.
