Service Manager, Boulder Cycle Sport South & Boulder Nordic Sport

Boulder Cycle Sport seeks an experienced Service Manager for a full-time position at its South Boulder location. Candidates will be experienced bike mechanics who can manage a busy and successful service department. Training and outside educational opportunities exist for those seeking to advance their technical and managerial skills. Training in cross-country ski service and stone grinding are also available.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead as Manager
    • Lead the Service Team: leading, managing, training and retaining a diverse group of bicycle- and ski-loving service team members.
    • Oversee opening/closing duties
    • Lead morning huddles
    • Delegate tasks for staff during idle time
  • Oversee all work orders and service scheduling
  • Maintain service schedule to maximize output while delivering service work on time.
  • Primary Service Writer
  • Act as gatekeeper for time-consuming walk-ins and for bikes beyond reasonable repair.
  • Manage service and bike-related warranty claims, coordinating with vendors to resolve.
  • Ensure timely completion & customer follow up of delayed orders.
  • Follow up to ensure special order parts are ordered and arrive in a timely manner.
  • Promote and maintain an organized and efficient work environment.
  • Coordinate with Buyers to maintain appropriate inventory of service supplies and components.
    • Bike examples: chains, cables, brake pads, etc.
    • Ski examples: bindings, service wax, drill bits, etc.
  • Coordinate with management to ensure adequate staffing for service department.
  • Responsible for ensuring continuity of service during time off.
  • Drive store success by working with company leadership team to ensure that all service department and overarching store goals and performance benchmarks are met and exceeded.
  • Assist on sales floor when needed.
  • Willing to lead bike maintenance classes/clinics and/or provide tech services at special events.
  • Initiate process improvement and development.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience

  • Experience working as a professional bicycle mechanic.
  • Customer Service experience.

Skills

  • Google Suite
  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
  • Point of Sale (Lightspeed)
